VIBO VALENTIA Last July 31, the soldiers of the Environment Unit set up at the judicial police section of the Prosecution of Vibo, flanked by the Coast Guard men of Pizzo and the technicians of the Calabria Region, have checked the local water treatment plant Marinella a Pizzo.
During the inspection, since criticalities were detected on the two sections of desalting and oil removal and it was established that the failure to work was due to the lack of sand disposal, kept in the plant for over a year, with consequent blocking of the sections. Therefore, the judicial police proceeded with the preventive seizure of the sections concerned and, in the coming days, will provide the instructions for the immediate disposal of waste.
"The activity put in place by the Prosecutor of Vibo - reads a note from the Office directed by the attorney Bruno Giordano - is part of a broader and more detailed program of controls at wastewater treatment plants operating in the province of Vibo, made more effective thanks to the protocol of collaboration signed last 3 July with the Region, which has made available its own technical staff.
