GRAND MAL: Large seizures, like other common seizures, arise from opileptic discharges that spread to both brain halves, from structures on the brain stem above the median line. Approximately 70% of cases occur during adolescence. A variety of factors such as bodily fatigue, repeated flashes of alcohol, diminished and dim lights, sudden interruption of treatment for epilepsy, menstruation, excitement, etc., cause the emergence or recurrence of major seizure episodes. With the majority of patients, with appropriate treatment, major seizure episodes can be destroyed over time, or the frequency of episodes can be reduced. The big watch develops like this. The patient suddenly loses consciousness and rolls to the feet in the afternoon. In the meantime, all the muscles of the patient go into a tonic contraction period that lasts 10-20 seconds. In other words, the muscles are severely contracted, there is no relaxation, the patient is stiff. The patient's eyeballs turned up, the eyelids opened. The patient is forced to breathe in severe contractions of the respiratory and abdominal muscles. In the meantime, the air that is going out quickly causes the larynx muscles to contract, resulting in a voice similar to crying. This sese is called "sarcastic cry". Severe contractions of the jaw muscles may exacerbate the patient's tongue. Muscle relaxation and fatigue seizures appear towards the end of the tonic contraction period, which lasts 10-20 seconds. These voice-relaxation seizures, which last for about 30 seconds, are called clonic contractions. During this period, the patient is involved in some struggle. By the end of the clonic contractions, the epileptic seizure is ending. During major seizures, the patient may miss his urine or feces. Salivary secretion can increase, can not breathe, can bloom. Heart rate is accelerated, blood pressure (blood pressure) increases.
After the seizure is over, consciousness comes again, the patient is in a state of surprise. After the seizure, he falls asleep or fully himself. In the post-seizure period, patients develop fatigue and muscle soreness.
